Meles BC

Connecting alumni through competitive rowing

Meles was established in 2003 by a group of dedicated alumni, as an avenue for fundraising and to allow alumni to continue to race together upon graduation. The name, latin for badger, took inspiration from the famous Badgerline Buses that preceded the current bus service. The President of Meles is Christopher 'Sanchez' Brooking (Class of 2003) and the Vice-President is Stuart Gordon (Class of 2015).

It has since become an affilated British Rowing club, and has allowed crews to race together at the Head of the Charles, Henley Royal Regatta, and each year at the UBBC Head in Bath.

If you and some friends would like to race with Meles, please get in touch! Updates will also be sent out in the news section when we are looking for crews for races such as UBBC Head. Subscribe to receive these news updates by email.

Kit Range

Meles has a kit range consisting of a rowing all in one, T-shirt, and a variety of cycling garments supplied by the BUBC kit partners Rival Kit. The price of these items includes a small mark up which goes to BUBC. Please note the website is password protected, the password is "bathcrew". Using the same password you will also be able to access the main Bath University kit range, which you are also very welcome to purchase if you would like.

We advise that if you would like to race with Meles BC at UBBC Head, or elsewhere, that you purchase an all in one to race in. If you have ideas about other items that you think would be popular, get in touch to help develop this kit range.
